Solid Financial Planning

Financial planning starts with understanding your unique situation. This begins with developing a balance sheet and cash flow projections. We work with you to determine, measure, and monitor your objectives in a written plan. With a solid foundation in place, we are able to provide detailed advice on cash flow, tax, risk management (insurance), education savings, benefits, restricted stock & options, deferred compensation, pension and social security timing, and other strategies. We work with your CPA and estate planning attorney to make sure your plan is coordinated with other professional advice.

Investment Advice

Investment advice is coordinated with your written financial plan with the goal of  meeting or exceeding your “Measurable Objectives”. We give detailed investment advice for you to implement at a custodian of your choice, or we provide investment management services. Our top-notch team will make sure the process is as seamless as possible. We may recommend investments such as individual bonds, low-cost index or actively managed mutual funds, Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), or private alternative investments.

Alternative Investments

In certain situations, for accredited or qualified investors, we may provide due diligence or access to unique private investments. While the specific types of investments vary, they often provide the potential for favorable risk-adjusted returns in exchange for accepting less liquidity than traditional markets. Including these investments as part of a diversified portfolio may increase the probability of meeting or exceeding the “Measurable Objectives” of your financial plan.

OUR PLANNING PROCESS

The process of determining, measuring, and monitoring objectives creates the best chance for you to successfully reach your goals.

DETERMINE OBJECTIVES

In order to measure success, you have to first determine what success looks like. What is your desired lifestyle today and in the future? What savings goals do you have and what are the associated time frames? What are your charitable intentions during life and after death? How much do you want to work now and in the future? Will you want (or be forced) to change the type of work you do at some point? We walk you through the process of determining your objectives and putting them into a written plan.

MEASURE OBJECTIVES

In order for objectives to be useful, they must be measurable. Once determined, your objectives must be made measurable by adding verifiable characteristics such as quantity and time. We routinely measure objectives such as income, portfolio assets, net worth, portfolio withdrawals, and investment returns, among others.

MONITOR OBJECTIVES

We help you regularly assess progress toward meeting our exceeding your “Measurable Objectives”. Long-term objectives are broken down into smaller goals, leading to annual measurement markers. We compare actual results to projected results and verify implementation of recommended tax savings, risk management, investment, and estate planning strategies.
